COLOMBIA, OUR NEXT STOP!

A lot of people have asked me where we got our name…Birding is the World, Brazil? Remember the novelty dance song called Surfin’ Bird by the Trashmen? I didn’t think so, but it’s a catchy and silly song that features the line “…bird bird bird…ba ba…the bird is the word….” repeatedly. I thought that would make a great name for our company with a few modifications. Birding IS the World, Brazil. As of now, there’s a contradiction in the title and sure enough, as big and great as Brazil is, it surely isn’t the whole world. In fact, for birds, Brazil is neighbors with some very wonderful bird paradises that justify visits as well. Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia are home to many species. I'm biased because I'm Brazilian and I love when people from all over have a wonderful experience in my home country but I'm not ignorant of the fact that South and Central America as a whole is an absolute bird paradise!

That’s why I’m happy to announce that our latest adventure was such a huge success.  We recently took a trip to Colombia to see the incredible Harpy Eagle and its chick. The best part, the chick was just coming out of the nest and almost ready to fly! Besides this, our client spent about a week seeing over 140 species of birds. What a wonderful adventure and this is something we want to expand and continue doing. We have some of the best guides in Colombia already and we are looking to expand into Ecuador, Peru and Costa Rica. If you are interested in a trip to any of these countries, let us know. Soon we’ll announce a roster of trips to Colombia for the end of this year or the beginning of next year and you can expect to see announcements for more countries. Thank you for supporting us and thank you for loving birds so much. Truly, Birding is the World, no matter the country!
